Hivo Van Teal began the company creating acrylic sculptures. As more and more people wanted to own a Van Teal original the idea of making it functional, as lighting, took hold.
Van Teal began, then, as art, not a commodity and continues to create original works of art. Their affinity with acrylic comes from being the first to use it and understand its powers.
